First, I need not remind you that winter is fast
approaching. If you can, Get to The Point! Halloweekends has once
again exceeded itself, transforming the park into a scary, fun and
themed world of trickery and adventure. You can find Halloweekends
photos
here and information
here. Combined with the discounts that Cedar Point is currently
offering, this might just be the best time to visit. If you do go, be
sure to visit the Creepy, Kooky, Castle Café. One who knows the park
well will never recognize this place from its former Macaroni’s
identity.
Second, a lot
has been going on around the park over the past season and soon
there will be announcement on next years plans. Mike, our
Executive Editor, has been covering all of the “construction
markings” very carefully and will keep you posted with any
breaking news, sightings or rumors. Know this though, as someone
who has observed Cedar Point day in and day out over the past few
years, I know that the park will deliver some serious excitement
for next season.
Third, The Point
Online will be quite active this off-season and this column will
be no exception. Beginning after closing day, this column will explore
and analyze the entire Cedar Point season. We will explore all the
park additions, the park policies and procedures, some ride reviews
and reports, and other 2005 season experiences. Furthermore, we will
attempt to analyze the upcoming 2006 season with more news, analysis,
comments and suggestions in conjunction with topics raised at
CPforums.com. We will also be laying out some “special edition”
columns relating to certain, specific topics from authors who can be
considered experts in their respective fields. Finally, we will unveil
some new special features, focusing on specific and often unnoticed
areas of the park. So keep checking back to The Point Online,
we’ve got everything to keep you covered this dreaded off-season.
Fourth, I just want
to say before closing that this has been a great year at Cedar Point.
The staff has been one of the best and most professional ever. The
rides never will disappoint. The games and merchandise, were well,
award winning! The food was excellent and of course, the shows were
great. All in all, Cedar Point is the Best Park on the Planet!
So get on out, time is running short. Soon the midways will be covered
with snow and the rides with ice. White Water Landing will be gone
soon. Besides, you will regret not going in the middle of January
when its ten below.
See you on the
midways!
