 Maverick Trademarked by Cedar Fair

February 1, 2006

CPForums.com was the first Cedar Point Fan Message Board to post of a new trademark by Cedar Fair.  On January 24, 2006, Cedar Fair filed to trademark "Maverick".

Cedar Point is expected to build a roller coaster on the site of White Water Landing in 2007.  This is the year the President and CEO of Cedar Fair is leaving, therefore it is believe he will "go out with a bang".  Cedar Point is known to trademark names of their roller coasters to protect the names and park.

Other trademarks that Cedar Fair holds are Skyhawk, Castaway Bay, Top Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, HalloWeekends, Mantis and more.

mav·er·ick (n)

1. An unbranded range animal, especially a calf that has become separated from its mother, traditionally considered the property of the first person who brands it.

2. One that refuses to abide by the dictates of or resists adherence to a group, a dissenter.

Just by the definition of Maverick, we can expect a wild roller coaster that fits the theme of Frontier Town.
