A
Cedar Point Press Release
SANDUSKY, Ohio – Nothing says the 4th of July more than
spending time with your family and friends watching
fireworks and enjoying a freshly cooked meal from the grill.
But that celebration usually involves a lot of planning,
shopping, stress and time that really nobody has. This year,
Cedar Point wants to do all the work for your 4th of July
celebration.
During Cedar Point’s All-American 4th of July Extravaganza,
guests will be treated to an amazing fireworks display,
mouth-watering dining options including grilled Johnsonville
brats and an all-you-can-eat backyard barbeque buffet,
patriotic performances by the 338th United States Army
Reserve Band, special events commemorating the 45th
anniversary of the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad and
much more!
And if you needed yet another reason to venture out to
America’s Roller Coast™ for the holiday weekend, park
officials have announced a wide variety of special deals to
help you save money on your visit!
Fireworks
On Friday night, July 4, Cedar Point will light up the sky
with an amazing display of pyrotechnics set to patriotic
music in the park. The spectacular fireworks show will take
place at 10 p.m. (weather permitting). Shortly after the
fireworks will be Cedar Point’s popular “Hot Summer Lights”
show. Cedar Point will be open until midnight on Friday,

Reserve Band, a 90-piece marching band, will make several
special performances at the park. Portions of the band will
perform an hour-long show at 1 p.m. in the Centennial
Theatre, plus shorter shows on the main midway near the Sky
Ride at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., culminating in a full-band
performance from 6-8 p.m. on the WildCat midway. Plus,
members of the military will be able to purchase two regular
adult admission tickets for the price of one ($42.95) all
weekend long (July 3-6). (A valid military I.D. must be
shown to receive the discount at the park. Tickets must be
purchased at Cedar Point. There is a limit of two
buy-one-get-one tickets per military I.D. Additional tickets
may be purchased at the regular military discount.)
Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad
In 1963 a new ride debuted at Cedar Point that would forever
change the landscape of the park. That summer, park
officials introduced the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad.
Since that first summer, more than 107 million guests have
taken the 15-minute excursion to Frontiertown, Boneville and
back to the Main Station. To help celebrate the 45th
anniversary of the Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad, there
will be special displays, souvenirs and other interactive
activities scheduled.
