Cedar Point going country in 2009
April 14, 2009
The Sandusky Register

Like the characters in the hit song by Alan Jackson,
officials at Cedar Point have “Gone Country.”
The amusement park has added a new show, “Got Country,” at
the Red Garter Saloon at the park’s Frontier Trail.
The show offers a “rowdy rendition of country favorites,”
said Robin Innes, Cedar Point spokesman.
Although the park has offered country tunes before at the
Red Garter, the new show has less rock.
“We’re very excited about this particular show because it’s
less rock and more country,” said Charles Bradshaw, vice
president for entertainment at Cedar Fair. “We’ve kind of
gone from country rock to pop country.”
Cedar Fair also has added a piano player and a singer to the
Palace Theater in Frontiertown.
The amusement park’s shows this year also will include
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” which features 1950s and early
1960s tunes at the Centennial Theater, which has proved to
be “incredibly popular,” Bradshaw said, and “Snoopy’s Big
Bow-Wow,” an ice-skating show.
The Extreme Sports Theater by the beach will feature an
all-new show, with new tricks, music and choreography,
Bradshaw said.
Cedar Point also has announced a new themed, lighted
walkway, the Starlight Experience, which will be presented
every night. Park officials say it will use more than one
million colored LED lights, “Peanuts” characters and themed
floats.
“The Starlight Experience will be a very popular addition to
the park this summer,” Bradshaw said. “These dramatic light
displays will appeal to everyone in the family and will be a
wonderful finale to our guests’ day in the park.”
