Cedar Point to Hold All-American Fourth of July Extravaganza

SANDUSKY, Ohio, June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Fourth of July
weekend will be bigger and better than ever before when
Cedar Point holds its All-American Fourth of July
Extravaganza Weekend from Friday through Sunday, July 3-5.
The three-day weekend celebration will include special
patriotic entertainment, money-saving deals on
mouth-watering meals and special prize giveaways at the live
shows. Headlining the event will be Cedar Point's Fourth of
July fireworks display that will begin at 10 p.m.
For added value and thrills, Cedar Point will be open until
1 a.m. on the evening of July 4. That leaves nearly three
hours to enjoy all of the park's rides and attractions after
the fireworks display ends. Plus, Starlight Admission,
beginning at 5 p.m., is only $29.99 for eight hours of fun
and excitement!
Some of the special activities planned at the Sandusky,
Ohio, amusement park/resort during the holiday weekend
include:
Fourth of July Fireworks.
Cedar Point sets the sky ablaze with lights and colors with
a spectacular fireworks display that will begin at 10 p.m.
Presented by Zambelli Internationale, Inc., of New Castle,
Pa., one of the oldest and largest companies in fireworks
displays in the United States, the program is synchronized
to patriotic music. (In case of inclement weather, the
fireworks show will be rescheduled for Sunday, July 5.)
In addition to the fireworks, Starlight Experience, the
park's new themed lighted walkway along the Frontier Trail
that uses more than one million LED lights, will be in
operation until the Maverick and Millennium Force roller
coasters close for the evening. At 11 p.m., Hot Summer
Lights featuring music, video, pyrotechnics and "Firewater,"
bursts of flames that climb 25 feet into the air, will be
presented.
Special Entertainment.
On Friday, July 3, the Singing Angels, Cleveland's
world-famous children's choir, will sing the National Anthem
and other patriotic songs beginning at 8:45 a.m. at the
park's main gate.
The next day, Saturday, July 4, the 122nd Ohio Army National
Guard Band will start the celebration with a performance at
8:45 a.m. at the park's main gate. The band will make
additional appearances throughout the park during the day.
Save Money on Meals.
The All-American Picnic Deal that includes admission to the
park and an all-you-can-eat picnic buffet with Southern
fried chicken, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, ice
cream, cookies and assorted beverages is only $44.95 plus
tax and $24.95 plus tax for juniors/seniors when purchased
online at cedarpoint.com. Available Friday through Sunday,
July 3-5.
Johnsonville brats will be cooking on the midway. A meal
deal that includes bratwurst, chips and a Pepsi drink for
only $6 plus tax will be available Wednesday through Sunday,
July 1-5.
Point Patrol Giveaways.
For added excitement, the park's Point Patrol will be giving
away prizes at select live shows all weekend long. Prizes
will include a year's supply of Shearer's Potato Chips; a
free parasail ride or half-hour Jet Ski rental; free
products from Toft's Dairy in Sandusky, coupons for free
Johnsonville brats and a Johnsonville Prize Pack that
includes a tabletop grill, apron, mitts and tongs.
