17 Coasters, 1 Day
Okay, before you read this, remember that this guide is
dependent on the effect of
Top Thrill
Dragster and Maverick
on wait times. You may wait a short, or long time for
them, so you may have to change around the schedule a little bit. I'm
sure this guide will work, it is just a matter of how efficiently.
Is it possible to ride all the seventeen coasters in one day--even on a
crowded Saturday? Of course it is, and The Point Online will help you
maximize your Cedar Point experience.
Get there early, or plan to wait.
With Cedar Point, the earlier you get to Cedar Point, the better
for roller coaster riding. If you have a minute, you may want to get
your tickets early from a AAA office or
online. If you are going on a
Saturday, you will not want to get to the park any later than 8:30 AM,
because it will take awhile for you to get your tickets if you haven't
already done so, and the gates open at 9 AM. If you get there after
the park opens, you chances of getting on all the coasters is very
low.
Let's start the day
off with some air conditioning...
After the national anthem
plays, the gates will open and most people will be running for Top
Thrill Dragster, Millennium Force, and Maverick. You, on the other hand, will be
smart and head for Disaster Transport. Why Disaster Transport? This
roller coaster's lines can get extremely long while Dragster's, Maverick's, and
Millennium Force's lines will stay about the same all day. Disaster
Transport is indoors and air conditioned, and I bet that you can guess
why most people head to this coaster in the middle of the day. After
traveling to "Alaska" on Disaster Transport, we recommend riding
Wicked Twister.
A quick few coasters...
Walk down the midway from Disaster Transport and head to the
looping Corkscrew coaster. This will also be a walk on. Be sure to
ride quickly, because you will have another walk on in the 205 ft.
Magnum XL-200. This steel monster rarely has a line until after
noon. Now go take a look at Dragster's line, if it is short, ride
it! After Magnum, head even
farther back into the park and conquer the Mean Streak wooden coaster
located in Frontiertown. This is another roller coaster that rarely
has a wait until after noon. After Mean Streak, take a ride on the
Cedar Creek Mine Ride, which is sure to be a walk-on.
Pat yourself on the back and then jog to Gemini...
Well, you've got five coasters down and eleven to go. Next, take a
ride on the Gemini racing coaster in Frontiertown. You may want to
ride both sides of the roller coaster, because you should have time.
After Gemini, grab a kid under 54 inches and "conquer" the Jr. Gemini.
If you aren't able to find someone who meets the requirements, you may
only be able to ride sixteen of Cedar Point's seventeen coasters. That
is okay, though, because you will be able to ride Cedar Point's other
kiddie coaster, Woodstock Express, in Camp Snoopy.
Loop around to Frontier Town.
After lunch, you should be ready for some more coaster riding.
Now, take a ride on Maverick, Cedar Point's newest coaster.
Loop around and take the Frontier Trail to the Millennium Force and
Mantis. These will be your longest lines of the day, but they are well
worth the wait. After riding these giants, continue down the midway to
WildCat and Iron Dragon. These two coasters should have around a 15
minute wait.
Two to go...
Finish your coaster marathon with Raptor and Blue Streak in the
front of the park off the main midway. These coasters have the
shortest wait in late afternoon. By following this plan, you should be
able to get on all of the coasters at Cedar Point, however, it is a
difficult task to achieve.
